Vanderbilt Falls to #1 Ranked Kentucky, 69-63

The Commodores got the wind knocked out of them in Nashville on February 11th when they lost to the Wildcats, 69-63, in conference play.

A couple facts played into this pairing. A year ago, Vanderbilt went 1-1 against Kentucky. Going back the last four years, the Commodores are now 3-6 against the Wildcats and 3-2 at Memorial Gym (TN). Since 1980, the Vanderbilt record against Kentucky is 16-51.

Vanderbilt was topped in both turnover margin and shooting.

The Wildcats had 48% shooting and their defense limited the Commodores to 36%. The Commodores turned the ball over more, 10 times compared to the six for the Wildcats.

John Jenkins was a bright spot against the Wildcats with 15 points on 35% shooting in 39 minutes.

This drops the Commodores to 17-8. With their record falling to 6-4 in the SEC, they stay in 3rd place. Their record against RPI Top 50 teams (Kentucky #4) falls to 4-4. Unfortunately, they've now lost 3 out of their last 5.
